Andrzej Arendarski

Ph.D., co-founder and president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce since its creation in 1990, which in 2015 celebrates its 25th anniversary. Expert and activist in economic affairs. Under his guidance the Chamber has gained universal authority and become an authentic representative of the economic milieu associating 130 organizations and, through these, several hundred thousand companies.

During the 80’s he was participating in the structures of democratic opposition (he worked in the independent educational and editorial structures, he was also a co-founder of Economic Association in Warsaw). Member of the Polish Parliament between 1989 and 1993. In 1992 was nominated to the post of Minister for Foreign Economic Cooperation in the government headed by Hanna Suchocka. Actively committed to the creation of conditions for the existence of a civic society and systemic changes. In 2002 – 2003 as the president of Tel-Energo S.A. and NOM Sp. z o.o. he worked on liberalization of polish telecommunication market.

On the 1st January 2008 he took on the post of Eurochambres’ Vice President, which is an association of European Chambers of Commerce located in Brussels, strengthening polish entrepreneurs’ position in the international arena. On 6th February 2014 he have been nominated as the Chairman of the “ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT” EUROCHAMBRES Committee.

He is an economic expert and the economy activist. Member of many Polish and foreign organizations and associations to support economic growth. University lecturer and author of numerous publications within many opinion-forming titles. Enjoys the respect of many leading personalities in politics and the economy in Poland and abroad. Awarded many high-ranking Polish and foreign orders including the Officer’s and Commander’s Crosses of the Order of Polonia Restituta and also the Order of the Smile.
